Greg London, A virtuoso display of impressions at Harrah's Reno in Sammy's Showroom." It isn't often one gets to hear a duet between Ozzy Osbourne and Kermit the Frog, but Greg London puts the two together, embodying both. London has been brought into Sammy's Showroom for an indefinite engagement of at least a year and in the hopes he can establish a reputation akin to the room's former stars. London deserves to do just that. His show is officially titled "Icons" in honor of the many impressions he presents, but it is ultimately a satire based on the career of Greg London. London's actual career arc took him from the U.S. to the West End London, UK (where this show originated). Along the way London finds himself in absurd situations involving a multitude of celebrities.

No impressionist can carry an hour-long show with sheer versatility of voice. He has to have a talent all to himself. London is as engaging a fellow as you're likely to encounter on stage, there are times when he is bust-a-gut funny and his musical talents are vast. His band joins in throughout the show, London is a generous star and refreshingly gives everybody a chance to shine. Some better-known impressionists like to dazzle the audience with a wide array of voices and in final analysis they only do some of them very well. Others are mere approximations. London ranges from Rod Stewart to David Cassidy and never turns up "almost." Sammy Davis Jr., Louis Armstrong, Barry Manilow, Bob Dylan, Phantom of the Opera, David Ruffin, Garth Brooks (whose hat descends from above), Tom Jones, Willie Nelson, David Bowie, Randy Travis, Bee Gees, Micheal McDonald, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Macy Gray, Gordon Lightfoot, Bill Joel, Joe Cocker, Neil Diamond, Queen, The Monkeys - the list goes on. London's versatility is impressive. The biggest little city should be more than welcoming to London. It's been a long time since it's had its own exclusive entertainer, and such a fine one at that.
