The Voices in Greg London's Head
By Sandy Zimmerman As originally published here: One of the most prolific impressionists, Greg actually becomes the celebrity or famous person from the moment he begins throughout the song to his last word. He can quickly change characters in just seconds, getting in the mood for his next impression.
Greg clones the "look" and "sound" with wigs, outfits, and props. His face can be compared to clay when Greg creates the impressions he wants.
The evening brings all the stars from Johnny Cash singing "Ring of Fire" and "I Walk the Line", to a sexy Tom Jones' "Delilah", the Rat Pack with Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis, Jr., Joe Cocker's version of "Unchain My Heart", Louie Armstrong's "Hello Dolly", Neal Diamond's "Play it Now", David Cassidy's "I think I Love You", Willie Nelson and Julio Iglesias' "To all the Girl's I've Loved before", Barry Manilow's "I Can't Smile without You", Elvis' "Hallelujah", Bruce Springsteen's "Midnight Special", and much, much more.
His stirring rendition of Sammy Davis Jr., in "Candy Man" and "I Gotta' be Me" brought back memories of when I reviewed Sammy back in the 80's.
This is one of the few shows for all ages and especially people who enjoy all types of music. Your favorites will probably be included in Greg's show.
I enjoyed Greg London's show when he first appeared in Las Vegas and now opening at the Las Vegas Hilton. There was time for an interview. Greg commented, "This is a dream come true. I am having the greatest time of my life with this show. I did 45 impressions tonight and changed about 30 times with everything from Ozzie Osborne to Tony Bennett but it is a whole new show, not like your grandpa's impressions show. This show has a story, dancers, a live band and I am really, really honored. I love the audience. That is what it is all about the people. My job is to entertain and that is what I do.
I loved Reno and before that London's West end, so here we are in Las Vegas and I am going to give it 100%.
We are bringing the stars back. This is what I was born to do. I am just part of the action and I am having a great, great time."
Greg London will always make the audience happy because his material is totally fresh. It was exciting waiting to see his next personality.
I saw Gregg London walking the Red Carpet at the Oscar Night Academy Awards, the opening of the Tropicana Hotel's Mob Experience, and at openings around Las Vegas. I usually shot photos during Greg's show while making notes for my review.
Greg London's "Impressions That Rock" appears Saturday- Thursday, 8:30 pm, in the Shimmer Cabaret, at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel.
