It's not over until the funny man sings

By Jeannie Borbe

Greg London's ICONS is more than just a one-man show.

On top of being able to transform into an array of music icons through his award-winning impressions, he can stir up a joke as well as he can hit a note.

One minute he's singing his own version of Robert Palmer's "Addicted to Love," the next he's singing like a Bee Gee or doing an exaggerated rendition of Ozzy Osbourne. The highlight of his Ozzy number is when his dancers come dressed as Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse dancing to Winehouse's hit song, "Rehab." He even pays tribute to the classic sitcom, "The Love Boat."

But brace yourself -- if you're a hardcore "fanilow," you might not want to hear his own twist on the legendary Barry Manilow. But while some of his words may sting, you can't help but laugh, even if you are the biggest Barry fan.

London also taps into his soulful side by mastering impressions of The Temptations, Ray Charles, Macy Gray and a spot-on performance of Michael McDonald. He continues to take the audience by surprise by portraying Billy Joel while playing the piano. The audience also gets to sing along as London covers "American Pie."

In addition to his impressions, there aren't too many shows where the band gets a lot of recognition. Not only do London and his band interact throughout the show by playing off each other's jokes, you'll hear guitar solos that are simply mind-blowing.

And of course, what's an impressionist show without paying tribute to Elvis Presley? As London performs to the hit song, "A Little Less Conversation," he fully gets into character and performs as if he's in a massive arena. With the intimate setting of the theater room, this performance truly feels larger than life.

His vast repertoire also includes  Sammy Davis Jr., Michael Jackson, Elton John, ZZ Top, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Springsteen and even Kermit The Frog.

Before moving to the Las Vegas Strip, London garnered recognition by performing for two and a half years at Harrah’s in Reno. Aside from his work on stage, London is a recording artist with several hit songs including “Everything I Own” and “Cool Change.” In 2009 he won an award for “Best Adult Contemporary Song” at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
