Danny Gans Was A Kindred Spirit
Friday, 01 May 2009 14:14

Joining the Las Vegas entertainment community and hundreds of thousands of Danny Gans fans worldwide as they mourn the sudden passing of the legendary entertainer, Gans' fellow master musical impressionist Greg London is deeply saddened by the loss of a truly kindred spirit.

"Danny Gans was one of the greatest entertainers I had ever had the chance to see on the Las Vegas stage," says London, whose hit show "Greg London's ICONS" re-opened March 1 as "ICONMAN" and is now one of the longest running shows ever in Sammy's Showroom at Harrah's Reno.

"He was a man filled with talent and respect for the art of impression," he adds. "I for one will miss his name in lights and his wonderful big welcoming smile on the billboards. All of us who were lucky enough to see this great talent will never forget the passion he brought to everything he did. As I am an entertainer who makes his living as an impressionist, Danny had a very strong influence on my life as the best in the business.

"My heart is heavy with this loss. God bless you Danny!!! And may God bless your beautiful family and close friends during this time of loss."

Gans launched his career in Las Vegas at the Stratosphere in 1996, then moved on to perform at the Rio Hotel before becoming a permanent performer at The Mirage from 2000-2008. Gans' new show at the Encore, the sister property to Wynn Las Vegas, opened February 10, 2009.
