Master Musical Impressionist's Compelling Turn on the Classic Bread Ballad Takes a Giant Leap from #94 to #45 and is #2 Most Added on The FMQB AC40 Chart LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--It's a chilly February up in Northern Nevada, where "Greg London's Icons" was extended at Harrah's Reno by popular demand, but the master musical impressionist (www.gregorylondon.com) continues to keep warm in the glow of his budding success as a pop star. London's heartfelt, emotionally compelling cover of "Everything I Own," the David Gates song that was originally a hit for the soft rock group Bread in 1972, is off to a rousing start at adult contemporary radio, taking a quantum leap this week from #94 to #45 on the FMQB AC40 Chart. As the track steams into the Top 40 (most likely next week!), a few exciting stats bear mention: a +156 spin increase from the previous week and 14 adds for the #2 Most Added spot between the Ballas Hough Band and Lionel Richie. The multi-talented singer, songwriter and performer set the stage for his breakthrough as a pop artist during the 2008 holiday season, when his intimate rendition of the classic "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" was the #2 most added track on FMQB's AC40 Chart and Radio & Records' (R&R) AC Chart during the same week. "Everything I Own" features background vocals and guitar contributions by ICONS Musical Director David Zeman of The Rembrandts/Gin Blossoms, who also mixed the track. London and Zeman are currently working on London's new version of another 70s classic, Little River Band's "Cool Change," which will be the title track for his soon to be released full length album Greg London: A Cool Change. "Greg London's Icons" is now one of the longest running shows ever in Sammy's Showroom at Harrah's Reno. After a brief hiatus, London will resume his "Icons" performances at Harrah's on March 1. He will also be heading to Berlin to perform with "The Dukes," his compadres in the 2008 film of the same name. In the movie, which starred Chazz Palmenteri, two time Academy Award nominee Peter Bogdanovich and character actor Robert Davi ("Die Hard," "Profiler"), London harmonized his way to infamy as part of a washed up doo-wop group that turns, comically, to a life of crime. |
